Fairy Tale Win for Anderson
Tomasz Anderson put together a blistering second round of 12 under par at Enfield to secure first win on the Jamega Pro Golf Tour with a 15 under par total of 129.
Anderson's first round of 3 under par was one of some 40 plus players who were under par for the first day with four players tied for the lead on 6 under par and they were previous winners. Jamie Abbott, Paul Kinnear and Sam Edwards with the fast improving Louis Hirst making up the front runners.
With no wind on the second day and a golf course made soft from overnight rain a low score was a real possibility and Anderson proved that theory correct when he covered the front nine in a 7 under par 30 with 5 birdies and an Eagle.
In the situation that Anderson found himself some players will tighten up and protect what they have in the bank but this did not apply to Anderson who carried on where he left off and added 5 more birdies on the way home for a faultless round of 12 under par.
With 7 more groups to come in Anderson would have a lengthy wait to see if his 15 under par total was to be good enough to secure victory.
However, although there were other spectacular rounds of golf produced the closest any of them came to Anderson was first round joint leader Louis Hirst who shot a 7 under 65 to finish on 13 under par.
The Enfield club is a definite favourite of ours with unbridled hospitality, enthusiastic members and catering that is of the highest quality with very generous portions.
Des Cassidy, the club manager and all the staff at Enfield were very professional in the way they coped with three very long days of golf and if you have an appetite for golf and good grub, Enfield GC is a must for you.
