First Win for Min Kyu Kim 김민규의 첫 우승
The young Korean, Min Kyu Kim won his first professional event at Windmill Hill after the tournament was foreshortened to one-day due to constant, heavy rain that swamped the course on the second day.
Kim’s only blemish came when he bogied the fifth hole but made up for that with 5 birdies and an eagle to post the clubhouse leading score of 6 under par.
Tight behind Kim in second place were Ben Storey, Josh White and serial winner Jamie Abbott all on 5 under par.
Another young Korean showing a marked improvement was Kim’s friend and fellow countryman Yeoung Bin Lee who shot an excellent score of 3 under par to finish amongst the prize winners.
Min Kyu and his fellow Korean, Yeoung Bin Lee are both far from home but have already made an impression on the tour, with their hard work and dedication in the quest to improve and they will both be ones to look out for in the future.
The whole experience at Windmill Hill was an enjoyable one, apart from the rain of course, with friendly helpful clubhouse staff making everyone feel welcome and the dedicated green staff for working their socks off to get the course in good condition for us.
