Ben Hall put together two superb rounds of 7 under par 65’s to hold off Jordan Wrisdale (BlackStar) and clock up his first Jamega Pro Golf Tour win at The Players Masters by 3 shots.
Day one at the Players Club started of in a rather pedestrian manner, with scores coming in at or around par better but as the day wore on the scoring picked up the pace and putting in the fastest lap was Ben Hall who carded a superb 7 under par 65 to lead by two from Dale Whitnell (Forester Park) and Liam Robinson (BlackPhone UK).
The trio had a little breathing space between themselves and some six players on 4 under par so the second day would be an interesting watch, in terms of who could hold their nerve, or could one of the chasers throw caution to the wind and come from behind to snatch victory.
A beautiful day for the final round at the Players saw an improvement in the scoring by the majority of the players but a determined Hall was not to be swayed from his mission, even after starting the final round with a bogey.
Hall made the ultimate “bounce back” with 5 Birdies and an Eagle to close out the front nine in a 6 under par total of 30.
A steady but unspectacular back nine of one under par was enough for Hall to keep the opposition at arm’s length and win his first Jamega Pro Golf Tour event.
The Players was in superb condition, thanks to Nick Perkins and his team and in the beautiful autumn sunshine it looked a picture.
The hospitality in the clubhouse was excellent, as usual and we always look forward to coming back here.
