Lee Corfield is in “The Omega Dubai Desert Classic”
Last year the players on The Jamega Pro Golf Tour embarked on a journey to try and win an Order of Merit prize that could possibly result in a start in the 2014 “Omega Dubai Desert Classic”.
The prize was a very generous package that included membership onto The Mena Tour, entry into their 7 tournaments, Return Air fare to Dubai and a contribution towards accommodation expenses.
Four Jamega Tour Players qualified for the prize, Lee Corfield, Lloyd Kennedy. Matt Swales and Chris Hanson.
Unfortunately Kennedy had to decline the prize due to other commitments, and Chris Hanson could only compete in 3 of the Mena Tour events for the same reason.
So this left Corfield and Swales to contend for the Mena Tour Order of Merit prize of the Omega Dubai Desert Classic start that goes to the 3 professionals who top the Order of Merit at the end of the season.
Corfield and Swales played consistent golf throughout the campaign and gained entry into the Mena Tour season ending Tour Championship.
Corfield knew he had to probably win in order to gain one of the three places on offer and hit the top of his form scoring a total of 11 under par for the 3 rounds.
Corfield in fact eagled the last hole to get into a play-off with the Moroccan player Faycal Serghini and then a brilliant birdie at the first extra hole won him the Tour Championship and got him into the Omega Dubai Desert Classic in January 2014.
Corfield joined 2 other players, Zane Scotland and Stephen Dodd, who have from time to time also played on The Jamega Tour, in the draw for one of the most prestigious European Tour events of the year.
Playing on The Jamega Tour gives Pro’s the opportunity to play in 2 European Tour events through the Order of Merits that are run during the season. No other Mini Tour in the UK gives you this opportunity.
So, for a chance to play in “The Omega Dubai Desert Classic” and “The Madeira Island Open” do yourself a favour and join The Jamega Pro Golf Tour for 2014.
