Monday & Tuesday, 29 & 30 March 2010

Hayling Golf Club is delighted to be hosting the season-opening tournament of the 2010 Jamega Tour schedule on 29 & 30 March 2010. This will be the first time that the Tour has visited Hayling Golf Club, and both sides are expecting an exciting display of golf on a fabulous course.

The Jamega Tour has been established for six years, and is going from strength to strength. The tour is committed to developing professional tournament golf throughout the UK.  Each tournament is played over two days, with 18 holes being played each day in groups of two or three. This is a great opportunity to watch potential stars of the future as well as legends of the past play their golf. One notable entrant in the tournament and great name from the past – Ronan Rafferty (Ryder Cup 1989).

One hundred golfers will compete for the £5,000 first place prize, including Hayling’s own professional golfers – Mark Treleaven and David Aitchison, who teamed up to win the Hampshire PGA Winter Fourball Tournament at South Winchester Golf Club on 1 March.

Members of the public are invited to visit Hayling Golf Club on 29/30 March to follow the professionals as
they play the premier links golf course on the South Coast of England.

New for 2011

Well for most it’s been a long hard winter, that is apart from the most fortunate, who are able to slip southwards to play and practice in sunnier climes, good luck to you but we are jealous.

Well at Jamega we haven’t let the moss grow, we have to keep the tour moving forward improvements have to be made and I believe in this “off season” we’ve certainly been busy doing just that.

The 2011 Schedule being the first challenge as fitting 22 tournaments into our short “summer” season here in UK is always problematic and a bit of a squeeze but hey ho we not only managed it by our target date but once again we actually published most before the end of November.

I’m sure you’ll all agree with some excellent new additions to our established and proven list.  Hayling Island in superb condition with staggering views of the estuary, a gentle hint may I suggest that you don’t play it blind, it’s a “real” links. Don’t forget it’s a limited field and it’s filling up fast, enter now.

The "Tours" first time visits for this 2011 season include April, South Essex, July, Barnham Broom and The Shropshire, August, Aldwickbury, The Bristol Club and The Tytherington and last but not least in September Woodcote Park, so as you can see some rather interesting new additions

Changes and improvements

We’ve decided to introduce our own flags and pins, a change in the colour of our tee markers also a new order for our tees, pencils remain the same but a few more thousand required! All we hope for an improved image.

Without doubt our biggest and most significant challenge/improvement has been the re-design of our website, massive changes and additions to hopefully enhance your overall experience. New additions include, “personal player profiles”, you are invited to upload your own background details, also a facility for you to upload photos of your own choosing and of course sponsors details. A general photo gallery with history and action photographs.

Also a player/Sponsor forum allowing you all to enquire/ask on a range of subjects; sharing transport/accommodation, arrange practice round partners, discuss last tournament or one due to start in the near future, whatever! generally bounce off each other, the more you use this facility the better and more useful it will become.

Finally new for 2011, we have a new Marketing Team full of enthusiasm, some great ideas and a strong belief that they’ll be able to move the tour forward with a solid sponsor base and a prize-fund package to equal the best satellite tours in Europe.

We eagerly await your comments!
