"Dreamflight" becomes Jamega's Nominated charity.

Once a year, 192 deserving children from all over the UK, accompanied by a team of medical carers, board a chartered Boeing 747 and head to Florida to spend 10 magical days of fun and excitement. Many children could not undertake such a trip without the support of the army of doctors, nurses, physiotherapists and non-medical volunteers who care for the children 24 hours a day.
Dreamflight is not just a holiday. The children leave their families behind giving them an opportunity to discover independence, confidence, and a whole new outlook on life. Often for the first time, these children realise that they are not alone, and they are not the odd one out. They see children around them who have also suffered, they gain perspective, and experience things they never thought possible.
Dreamflight children have gone on to amazing achievements. In 2008, 8 of the returning Paralympians from Beijing, many of them medal-winning, had been Dreamflight children citing the trip as a turning point for them.
Dreamflight, which has operated every year since 1987, believe that fun and joy are just as important as medical research and equipment - especially for children who perhaps can't wait long enough for the breakthrough they need or whose illnesses and treatments have brought pain, distress and disruption to their lives.

Dreamflight does something that medicine can't.

Tour Van update from Neil Cooke

Well, it's been 6 tournaments now that I've pitched up in the Tour Van, I'm having a good time and I hope it's proving useful to you guys. I've noticed a big rise in the numbers of players using the facility which is great as it shows the right attitude to life as a tournament professional. It is crucial, if you are  looking to earn a living out of playing golf  that your equipment both suits you and is in good order. As a tournament golfer you should check your loft and lies every 2-3 weeks to ensure they haven't moved through use, grips need replacing 2-3 times a season and your set should have an "MOT" twice a year. Every shot costs money, so make sure your clubs are the right tools for the job. On the van I offer regripping, reshafting, loft & lies, putter lengths and weighting, custom grinding or just the chance to check out your specifications. I also have a range of irons fitted with the leading steel shafts so you can compare prrformance. When I'm not out with the van my day job is at Golfsmith Europe where I'm the Technical Director. Golfsmith Europe is Europes largest supplier of golf club components, which enables me to offer a fantastic range of grips, shafts etc. I can't afford to carry every grip or every shaft in every flex, weight and tip size, so if you have any particular requirements just let me know and I'm sure I can source them from Golfsmith at  very competitive prices. If you are looking to upgrade, change or have any work done just contact me on the van or email me and I'll try to save you some money.  A lot of manufacturers often ask me to promote their products, and I will try to offer special deals at each event.

For the next 2 events, at The Players Club and The Bristol Club I have offers on Feel Tech putter grips and Champ Spikes, drop by the van and have a look.

In the weeks that I've been out here, I've been so impressed with the Jamega Tour. The way the tournaments are run, the efficiency and organisation of the staff would not be out of place on The European Tour.  The combination of the Jamega Team and the venues make this a tremendous experience for the aspiring European Tour player. Here's to a succesful and enjoyable second half of the season.

Play well

"The Tour Van"

Just a quick note to introduce myself. I'm Neil Cooke from the Tour Van some of you may have seen the truck at The Warwickshire. I have been in the golf industry for over 25 years and have spent much of that time working for the European Tour players. I recently bought the Wilson Staff Tour Truck and have decided to turn up and support the Jamega Pro Golf Tour.

I offer all the services you will find on the European Tour, regripping, reshafting, loft and lie alteration, customisation, putter fitting and custom grinding. I also offer what I call a Club MOT, which is a complete analysis of the set of clubs. Having worked on the main tour and seen the way the players prepare for tournaments, it is crucial that you guys know exactly what you're carrying in the bag.

Wrongly fitted clubs can cost shots and when you're playing for a living that could be the difference between a decent cheque or nothing. For example, the guys on the European Tour regularly check their loft & lies, some of them at every tournament, even if it's just for peace of mind. You are all welcome to stop by the van even if it's just for a chat. I understand following the tour can be expensive, so I charge materials at trade prices with a small fee for fitting, the van is pretty expensive to run! but all advice is free of charge.

I am really pleased to be associated with the Jamega Tour, it's a fantastic opportunity to play competitive golf on great courses. Tony, Gary and Richard do a great job and their events are run as well as any on the major tour. It is the ideal stepping stone for you guys trying to move up to The European Tour.
